Valentine’s Day….

with one comment

My cards has been selling like ‘hot cakes’ especially for this Valentine’s day, I think in total I’ve made 15 – 18 cards but now most of them are sold and left probably two cards. It’s great because that shows additional 10ish of couples out there are ‘madly in love’ with each other – isn’t life’s great when you’re in love? This year we’re going to celebrate Valentine’s in a different way – we’re going for a rest and relax way of Valentine’s getaway, location – not to tell you! haha… well it’s good to relax and chill out especially after the last bazaar on Sunday. Well the pic taken during the last time I’m having a stall at the ABC Bazaar, maybe I will change location soon after the CNY – try the Curve or Amcorp Mall perhaps??

Anyway, Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you!

ABC Bazaar

without comments

After thinking about setting up a stall at bazaar to promote my stuffs, J and I finally made it to the ABC Bazaar at Mont Kiara last Sunday. We’ve been wanting to find a place to set up a stall from the start, so after a checking thru the bazaar we decided to try out for the first time, just to see what it’s like. I’ve been creating so many cards, I felt it was time for my card to make a public debut.

I’ve always like to meet fellow DIY crafters around Kuala Lumpur, and at the bazaar, you may see some of them. I’m really impressed with some of their handmade items, such as hair clips, jewerly, aquarium, handmade bra straps and etc…

The nicest compliment which I had from the customers was ” your card is too beautiful to be given away as a present ” – I felt rewarding feeling as people actually appreciate my handiwork and craftsmanship. I just love the way, people receiving my card and feeling happy that it was directed and custom-made for them. At the same time, thinking making a litte extra money on the side is goood too.. :-P

ABC bazaar was quite famous for it’s exclusive handicrafts items, where you could would not normally get them elsewhere because it’s unique and most of the products are self-made, however the environment has recently change with a lot of new comers, bought their goodies from wholesalers from Petaling Streets, and sell really cheap fashion accessories. Can u image having RM2 per pc for an earring, which you can only use maybe once and it would fall off from your ears…that what I’m talking about. That’s something which I’m not too happy about!

Anyway, we finishes early about 5.15pm because the rain’s coming… Ade was there to help out with the carrying. Thanks to all whom visited, especially my sister and her family. It really good to have your support!

What is your fav past time?

with 2 comments

One of the things which I’m quite fancy is art & crafts. I started learning about drawing when I was in Form 3. I joined a 1 year art class and picking up water colour painting. Some of the paintings are still with me until now.
I am also actively involved with the school notice board (then) – well decorate, design and create notices for the school activities that I’ve joined.

That was such a long time ago, I know there are few of my friends whom are good in this too. However I’ve not touch any scissors or glue ever since I left the school until early this year, I was browsing the net, and saw few crafts website. Somehow, my heart is telling me, hey it’s time for you to do so… pick up the brush or anything, and start designing & be creative.

So, that was the moment, I knew I’ve been missing in action… I started buying some materials, all the way from Petaling Street to the Curve, to ebay and also from the UK. So, now I design “Cards” – from season greetings to weddings, to birthday, mom & dad, easter, baby, love and etc…

Some of my friends, need to have love cards in spanish, they can’t find it anywhere in KL, so I design for them, wedding card wishes in Malay language, love cards in Dutch language, photo frame (similar to scrapbook) and so on… and I’m quite happy with it. The sales is good too although I don’t make a lot of profit out of it because the crafts basic materials are really expensive. But the most important thing is

“I am so much happier now, knowing that people appreciate my work – that’s the motivation…”
