Lomography
From the first time I saw an image like this (see thumbnail) from the Taiwanese MTV couple of years ago, I’ve been thinking how do they shoot these pictures/movies. Why is the colour of those pictures are so contrast and saturated. I wanted to try shooting one like this but I’ve always failed until I searched the Flickrs.
Flickrs has a whole bunch of people who took photos like this and apparently they are called Lomographer, named after the product. Till then only I realised I need to have a Lomo camera if I want to have this sort of effect on my picture. If you want to know what is Lomography, read here.
So, I checked out everywhere in KL because I do want to get myself a Lomo LC-A camera but it’s not widely sold in Malaysia. From my research it’s can be quite expensive because it’s rare to find but you can actually get one from Lomo Society. You just need to purchase the lomo camera online.
I’ve calculated, to purchase one from China/HongKong (Asian region) which include the postage, can easily cost me RM1000++ On top of that, I need to buy film and process them manually. A standard film will be 35mm but there are also several types of Lomo camera that uses 120mm film. Lomo camera comes with many different type of models, types and the best thing is the fisheye effect. The more I talk about this, the more I wanted to own one someday!
