Chocolate cookies
Oh yes, 6 months has gone by…where did 2009 (first half of the year) go? This posting is my #14th posting for the first six months of the year, which is pretty shameful. As I recalled, I have ‘blogging’ as one of my 2009 list of things to do… sigh!!
Anyway, I still have another 6 months to catch up – today is exactly 15 June 2009 – 2nd half of the year, here I come! And to all my friends, I know… I have not posted my wedding photos to either Flickr, blog or even Facebook… I will do so (no more promises this time, as I’m afraid I might break them) but I will try my best!
Anyway… I was feeling good over the weekend and even though I’m currently on detox, diet and exercising, I think it’s still okay for me to indulge some chocolate cookies (ahem… my homemade choc cookies with hubby, yeah…he helped a lot!)
Those of the lucky ones at the office, I’ll bring some to share with you all tomorrow. I didn’t use butter, instead I used Olive Oil, so I guess it’s still healthy! (wink wink).

Berbuka Puasa: House of Sudanese, Suria KLCC
It was very nice of my Country Director, Mr GL to invite us to have dinner (Berbuka Puasa) with him at House of Sudanese, Suria KLCC. He will be leaving the country this Wednesday after 5 years in Malaysia. We’re going to miss him. He has been very kind and supportive all this time, so…it’s a little emotional for me, but I guess we’ll bump into each other again, soon… (i believe)
The restaurant was great, although the name is Sudanese, we’re not having any African food. If you are looking for nice Western Javanese food, this is the place to be. This food are quite rich in spices, and taste good too. With drinks, desserts and main course (2 each), we ended up with a total of RM600++ for 13 people. Which is quite affordable. (Thanks to GL!)
I didn’t bring my camera, so…this is some of the food picture that I’ve managed to capture.
The portion are quite small, but it’s just enough for all of us…

little bits of chocolate and drinks…
What could be better, if I have a little nice box of Ferrero Rocher chocolate and my favourite vodka lime, right now! That would be perfect
But unfortunately…it’s past midnight and I need to get my sleep…important conference tomorrow

chinese cookbook
I’m so excited, I just bought a new cookbook from MPH Bookstore. This cookbook is special because it’s all about ‘low fat’ and ‘low-cholesterol’ Chinese and Asian dishes. This book is authored by Maggie Pannell and Jenni Fleetwood if you want to know which cookbook I’m referring to.
The layout of the book is fantastic, it’s full coloured, with nice photos of the dishes, coffee table book size and it’s extremely affordable. It’s only RM29.90 and since this month MPH Bookstore is having a sales, I even had a 15% discount as a ‘reader-circle’ member. Otherwise, it’s only 10% discount. Come to think about it, it’s even cheaper than some imported magazines such as ‘Hello’ or ‘Wallpaper’… I took some pictures on the book, check them out!
Garlic and Onions
I’m not sure whether most of you would agree with me, but Malaysian love to put fried garlic and onions on their meals most of the time, am I right? Well, maybe some people disliked them, but not me… I especially love having them with instant noodles! I sprinkle them on top of anything that I cook, vegetables, porridge, soups and many more dishes…mmmm….yummy!
Today I took some pictures while making them…

Kim Gary
Have you heard of Kim Gary? One of the famous Chinese ala-cart restaurant around KL – the concept, food, and the layout is very Eastern oriented – well, why not right? It’s from Hong Kong! We went to one of the Kim Gary’s branch at Avenue K.
To be frank, the food is not really that nice, but the restaurant is almost full with youngster. I heard they said, the food is value for money.
Since I wanting to have noodle, I asked for ‘Hot and Spicy Pork Noodle’ – when the waiter served me the bowl of noodle, I can’t helped but was too shocked to see my noodle. Now I know the meaning of ‘value for money’ – check out the size of the bowl!!!! I think this is for a family of four but in the menu, it was written as single meal :O

O’Briens
Today, not sure what to have for lunch, we decided to take a short drive out from the office to ‘no where”. Mr L is driving us (K, KW and myself) in his new Honda Civic 1.8cc. It’s quite a nice car and the drive is smooth too although we do stop several times along the Jalan Ampang for the traffic light. Mhmm, maybe it’s due to school holidays, we didnt really stuck in the traffic jam.We were not sure what to have, some thinking of having ‘Chee Cheong Fan’ but the shop in Jln Peel is close, then some thought of having chicken and duck rice at Pasar Rakyat, but some disagree. So, at last we decided to have sandwiches at GE Mall. Yup, the O’Briens restaurant. I was having my camera with me, so I managed to snap some of the yummy food we had today….
Corn soup…
