Sister bonding

with one comment

I’ve always enjoy my ‘ME’ time with my sister – she’s fun, funny, stingy (sometimes), good figure, mother of two adorable kids and on top of all – she’s my best pal where we share stupid jokes!

(Me and sis, at Book Fair KLCC)Sis and me

I still remembered the year she got married (about 8/9 years ago), our family had our ‘reunion dinner’ on the eve of Chinese New Year without her – because she have to be at her in-law house for their reunion dinner too. At that time,  I felt our ‘dinner’ was incomplete and I got angry at myself because she’s not there. But I know this is the ‘Chinese’ tradition and I can’t change that.
Well, I have to say “I’m really glad” that my hubby is not Chinese – otherwise, our reunion dinner on the eve of Chinese New Year 2010 will be a quiet one for my family.

Sis, if you are reading this! Just want to say that ‘I’m so glad that we are sisters’ :)

Journey of Life…

with 2 comments

I haven’t blogged. Mainly because I have too many things that I wanted to share but not sure where to begin with! So, I decided to postpone the most ’interesting’ part of my journey until it’s settled! Now that it’s settled… I dunno how to begin… perhaps things started almost 11 months ago… so I guess the best is just to summarise… (wink wink)

The Countdown:

26 Apr 08:  We had a dinner appointment with mum and dad in Klang, just a casual dinner but since we arrived earlier, we decided to go for  window shopping.  Passed-by a jewellery shop and went in – within 30min – we’re out with an engagement ring, and wedding bands! (phew!) Before he make the payment, I asked him, “are we really buying this?” and his answer is “yah, why not?”
Later, we met with my parents, have dinner and he asked permission from my parents, and dad said ‘good’! Mmmmm… he didn’t ask me tho! :P
But I agreed with his ‘crazy’ ideas…. hahahaha

Gathering

with one comment

It was a nice week off and I’m glad that I’m here in KK. On Wednesday, Yummy Mummy and I had some girly time together. We went to Asia City for breakfast at Fook Yuen, later to 1Borneo to confirm my make-up appointment with M.A.C for my big day next year. Yup, I had to do all these arrangement while I’m here – there are not many things to arrange now except the documentations.

Later Yummy Mummy and I did some shopping at TuneStore and had our chinese noodles lunch at the newly opened Seafood Restaurant. Btw, the name of the restaurant is ‘Jaws’ – which I found quite funny. Maybe they are famous for ’shark fin’ – well, that I’m not so sure!

Last night was nice too – we meet up with Zeeb, Julia and Yummy Mummy for some girls night out! We did some ‘cuci mata’ too – well, all our men are not around and they are in KL. (punya lar jauh) So, our gathering was really fun! It’s been a while since I last saw them, so the reunion was good, especially we had our choc cakes, ice creams, mocha and smoothies!  They are planning for a costume-party for the New Year celebration, but unfortunately I won’t be able to make it! (sob sob)

Well, I have another two days to go before leaving KK, so better make use of the time here with the sun, beach, sunset and food! :D

friends and reunion

without comments

ME, myself & TA Today is Chap Goh Meh, the last day of the Lunar New Year. I remember I made a post about Chap Goh Meh last year when ‘banana’ was used by the single guys instead of mandarin oranges, and I wonder whether this year the trend remain the same?

Anyway, it has been a good long week and I’m glad tomorrow is Friday! Although I’m a bit busy at work but overall…the time spent has been an amazing for me. I’ve fullfilled one of my resolution for this year, yeap… keeping in touch with friends! Especially ”friends” whom I’ve not seen for at least 2 – 3 years! Actually, I always looking forward for any reunion or gathering!

chinese new year: reunion dinner

without comments

chicken curry Everyone says that reunion dinner is on the eve of Chinese new year, well… I’ve agreed with that statement my whole life until my elder sister got married 6 -7 years ago! I changed my mind about the concept of reunion dinner. I think the reunion dinner should be on the 2nd day of the cny instead of the eve…

Why, because on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year… there’s a tradition where daughters whom are married will be visiting their own parents’ home. My sister and her family will come and visiting us! And my parents will have another round of reunion dinner, and the kitchen will be busy again.
